cremation
Cremation is becoming more acceptable worldwide and within the United States and New England. It is considerably less expensive, and, for some, is simpler, less emotional, and more convenient. The projected cremation rate in Massachusetts in the year 2010 is 32%. We have experienced a gradual but steady increase in the number of cremation interments over the last ten years.
cremation niches
Niches for cremated remains are located inside the Maguire Chapel at St. Joseph Cemetery. A niche is a bronze-framed glass-fronted compartment where the urn is placed. Niches can accommodate one cremation urn or several cremation urns, depending on the size of the niche purchased. Bronze tablets can be inscribed and placed in the niche. Silk flowers are available and will be changed on a seasonal basis.
